+amplify true musical icons. Before his solo venture, and while still in high school, Stone and his two brothers formed the group Everidae. While singing at a talent showcase at Security Mall in 2001, the group met Sisqo and Jazz of DruHill. After the show they asked the seasoned vocalists for feedback on their performance which lead to a conversation about their material, an exchanging of numbers and the Featherstones production of a DruHill track. Chris, Matthew, and Justin are not only singers, but producers who penned DruHill's 2002 hit, "I Should Be." They enjoyed life in the background as producers and continued to work with local artists as well as groups like Black Buddafly for whom they wrote and produced the songs, "Rock-a-Bye" and "Badd Girl" from the Waist Deep Soundtrack. After backing a group that disbanded, they decided to solely focus on Chris' career. They started the FME Group, an independent label, and have written, produced, and arranged all of Stone's work. A devout Jehovah's Witness, Stone still goes out daily to spread the Word and doesn't perform on birthdays or holidays. Their parents always explained why they couldn't celebrate holidays and left it up to their children to make their own decisions regarding spirituality."They made sure they inculcated good spiritual values in us from a young age," Scott said."But [they encouraged] us to do research and find out for ourselves, there was no forcing," asserted Matthew. These values are evident in much of Stone's work, where clever metaphors and other poetic elements create solid and soulful music. Stone is not into creating disposable or trendy tracks, but classic music that is so expressive and mellifluous you can't help but feel it in your soul. The Flywire 25
